Answer:

The Rotator layout is designed to automatically expand and wrap text around the slideshow when additional text is added.
However, the text wrapping may negatively affect the lower 4 text boxes should there be only a small amount of text or a bullet list as shown in the example above.

Solution: Assign a fixed height to your text box.

1) Log into WordPress
2) Click on “Appearance” -> “Editor”
3) A file called “style.css” should load by default. If not select it from the bottom of the file list on the right.
4) Type or copy/paste the following (adjust the height to your needs)

Simple leave URL fields blank if you want to exclude one or more of the icons.

My Webiste is loading slow – what can I do?

Answer:

1) Check your image size(s).

Make sure you resize all your images using image editing software such as Photoshop to the correct size before uploading them to WordPress. Don’t let WordPress handle the resizing via html code – it will still ooad the full image file size. Be especially careful about the file size when using full width background images on your site.

2) Check for slow loading Plugins.

Check your site using PingDom Tools. Look for big slow javascript files often used by image gallery and slider plugins.

3) Remove CSS inclusion (SmallBiz 3.8.0 and older only)

Remove the backwards compatibility file from the SmallBiz Theme. This file is no longer used and can cause slow load times on some hosting servers. Note newer versions of SmallBiz 3.8.x do no longer have this file.

4) If steps 1-3 don’t change your load times get in touch with your hosting providers tech support and be persistent to get a good answer. Keep in mind that if you have several websites with the same host that they are likely not all sitting on the same physical server (even though it appears to you like they do). If your site is on a shared server with super high traffic neighbors it can affect your load times too.

I would like to add an image into my header that is linked to a certain page or site.

Answer – Option 1: Have the image show up on every Page and Post

1) Log into WordPress
2) Go to “Media” -> “Add New” and upload your image. Copy the generated image URL.
3) Go to “Appearance” -> “Editor”
4) Select Header (header.php) from the file list on the right.
5) Add a div tag with absolute positioning above the #sitewrap div
