SimpleScripts auto-installed SmallBiz Theme – But I bought the Zip File Version and have no Username or Password – Now what?

Question:

I purchased the SmallBiz theme directly from Expand2Web and I have a Zip file of the theme.

However, SimpleScripts installed the theme for me and I was never asked to create a User-email and Password to unlock the theme.

Answer:

If you have a Zip file of the SmallBiz theme you need to un-install the “locked” version that comes with SimpleScripts and install your full version from your Zip file.

If you already started customizing the locked theme version you will not loose your content. All your content is stored in the database, which is not affected by the Theme change. If you added your own custom CSS under “Appearance -> Editor” you need to copy over the CSS however.

Here are the steps in detail:

1) Log into WordPress

2) Go to “Appearance” -> “Themes”

3) Activate one of the WordPress default themes in order to de-activate the SmallBiz Theme

4) Delete the pre-installed SmallBiz Theme

5) Click the “Install Themes” tab (upper right)

6) Click the “Upload” link and Browse for your Zip file on your local harddrive.

7) Click “Activate”

8) You will be forwarded to the (unlocked) SmallBiz Options Panel.
